Goodbye Peeler

June 10th, 2010

Out of the years that I’ve been at Peeler this has been the best one. I caouldn’t wait for graduation or the fifth grade picnic. At graduation I almost cried three times before it was over. Next year I’m moving on to sixth grade at Lincoln Academy. I can’t wait to go to middle school with all my friends that are going there next year too. Sadly some of my friends they won’t be going Lincoln Academy with the rest of my friends and I. My friend J’dah won’t be going and neither will my friend Morgan from my soccer team. They both applided to get into that school, but I think they are on the waiting list for next year.

Goodbye Peeler and goodbye Mrs.Buckmaster, the best fifth grade teacher in the world!  :)

A21 All About You

May 6th, 2010

Mom,

It’s your special day. The day just to celebrate you, don’t do any house work at all don’t worry about my  Amera, Karson and I. Daddy can take care of us while you have the day off, or take us with you if you want. Maybe you and Daddy can go out for the night, and drop Amera and me off at Aunt Felicia’s house. Like I said before we can all do something of your choice. Like go to a resturerant and then go grab some Ice Cream on the way home from Cold Stone, if you would like to.

And thanks to you, I’m here. You gave me life what’s not to celebreat. You’re the most important on this special day, and just for you here’s a poem:

A20 My HUGE Responsibilities

April 22nd, 2010

My two big responsibilities in my life are my little sister and my baby brother. They’re the only siblings I have, and plus with out them, my life would be kid’a boring. To me they make my life better. My sister my get on my nerves sometimes and my baby brother will, onces he reaches two years old anyway. They’re both like little adventures that I’m resposibile for.

I have to take care of my little sister by keepong her in line, help with her pre-K homework, and just help her in life. With my little brother scince he’s still a baby, I take care of him by fesdding him when my parents are doing something, change his dipers(sooner osr later), and keeping him fromgetting sick, and when he gets older kepping him in line too.

I have my responsibilities to deal with myself too. But Family’s important as well. What are YOUR responsibilities? :)

A19 Dear Mr. President

April 15th, 2010

      Dear Mr. President,

My name is Nadia, and I was reading Time for Kids. It was an article about students testing. Some of the facts I read where just unfair to me, I’m in the fifth grade at Peeler Elementary school about to go to sixed at Lincoln Academy next semester. Here are some facts:

-          Across the United States more than 250 million standard fill-in-the-bubble tests each year.

-          More than 70% of kids ages 9 to 13 worry about test (that would be including me).

-          Teachers in Florida might be getting paid by there students test scores.

The last fact is just unfair to the teachers and students. If that passes and goes to the intire country, that pust more pressur onto the children and teachers, that’s a big horrible problem, I say that because the school that I go to is about to take the Eng of Grade test (EOG). If every body got 1 or a 2 on their test score, that would mean that all the teachers would get fired and wouldn’t have a job, plus I cave about my teacher. She’s the best fifth fifth grade teacher ever, that’s just my opinion, and the rest of my class. I don’t want that to happen to her. That’s all I have to say.

  Sincerely,

                  Nadia

A18 Elephants, NOT for sale

April 7th, 2010

I don’t think Elephants should be killed for their ivory tusk. Ivory is so valuable it’s also known as white gold. In Tanzania holds almost 200,000 pounds of it, that’s worth as much as 20 million dollars. I say that because, elephants are magnificent creatures, although they have some strough B.O. They still shouldn’t be killed. One time Elephants used to number up to millions, but now today there are less than 500,000 on the planet.

Just to kill an animal or person or whatever for jewelry and other things. That’s nothing compares to a life. You wouldn’t want to be killed for something worthless. Would you? To make my point I mean would you like to be killed for some stuff that means absoluttly nothing  to an anilmals, or even YOUR life. Nothing at all! I make’s no sences to go off and kill an defincless creature, even thought an Elephant can crush you to death, still they’re defincless creatures that did nothing to you, so why kill it?

A15 Dear Teachers all around the World

February 24th, 2010

Dear Teachers all around the World,

What should you do with your students:  turn them into apples and eat them?  NO! Here’s what you should do…………

Get in touch with their personalities, and learn what they like to do. Then see if you can include what everybody likes to do into math, language arts, social studies, science, and your project plans. My teacher finds things that everybody likes to do!

If you have trouble with a student, “try, try, try again” and don’t give up.  If that doesn’t work with the one(s) you’re having trouble getting in touch with, ask his or her friends what their personality is like and what they enjoy!

That is what you should do with your students.     :)

A14 When my Lil sis was born and got all… the attention

February 15th, 2010

When my little sister was born she got all the attention. I only had one day of it, when I became a big sister. I felt like no one really cared about me when she got here. I was only five so I didn’t under stand why I wasn’t being paid attention to as much as I was when I was an only child. I felt like no one really cared about me, and I understand that babies need the attention when they’re new borns. And now I know they always did, but yesterday my dad, little sister, went shopping for our mom (my dad’s wife) for Valentines Day. I saw thind figureine that had a New Born baby and his or her mother holding him or her. My dad said “no we can’t get it”. Now here comes my sister she says she wants this talking teddy bear that says I love you and stuff like that and it cost like $20.00. She was beaging and beaging, he was sitting on his kneas and shaking his head and finally said “go ahead and get it.” I toled him “you shouldn’t have gave in daddy, you shouldn’t have gave in.”

Now that she and I are older…we get equal the attention. Although now that our baby brother has been born she might feel that way because she can’t be all under my mother or all on Karson because he’s a new born, but we all love her.

My Amazing Grandparents

January 9th, 2010

My Grandparents are just “AMAZING” to me. They do all they can for my little cousins and I. My Grandma is a great cook and definitley a great person her dinners are some of the best in my family. My Pop-Pop (Grandfather) is a great teacher, although he is retired after 41 and a ½ years of it, also a great person, he helps my little cousins, my sister, and I learn lots of things. My Happy (Grandma) is a great cook and a great person, she is really healthy. And My Pop-Pop Jimi, he was a great pool player and a great man. He loved jazz, and was extremely into music.

They all have wonderful personalities. I’m so lucky to have grandparents like them. They always support me in what I do, like Gymnastics and Soccer, and any thing else that I will do later in my life.

Those are my amazing grandparents :)
